Bank of Recycling Bins
When Ilfracombe Junior School in Devon wanted a colourful and fun way to get rid of rubbish they knew exactly where to come to find it. They got in touch with Wybone and told us what they wanted and we set about designing a bin to suit their needs.
The school was doing a recycling project and wanted new bins to support and reinforce the work that was going on in the classroom. Staff knew the units would be going outside in the playground and they wanted the bins to be grouped together but other than that the brief was quite open.
Our team set about designing something unique which would fit the requirements and so the recycling station was born. Bright, eye-catching colours were used to attract the children and encourage them to use the bins. We took our existing Barnsley Bin MK1 design but mounted it onto a stand which holds three bins together. Each unit was logoed up with a different Perspex picture, showing exactly the type of rubbish which should be thrown into it.
The school loved it so much they ordered 12 bins and once the children return from the Easter break they’ll be using them daily to dispose of food waste, recycling and litter.
