Exhibition fever struck at the heart of Wybone this month with two of the biggest events in our yearly calendar. We exhibited at both RWM in Birmingham and IPS in Bournemouth.
Attendance figures at RWM were up by over 30%, which meant it was a busy show for us. Hundreds visited our stand in hall 20 and saw the array of product Wybone offers from litter bins to recycling bins and even our new talking bins! Excellent new contacts were made and existing relationship renewed, to ensure a prosperous future.
Meanwhile Wybone’s Hybrid clinical waste bin was a big draw for those at IPS in Bournemouth. Many were keen to see its functionality and durability in action. The fire retardant plastisol body, which conforms to class ‘O’ Building Regulations, was a key selling feature for customers who place safety high on their agenda.
A big order has also been completed and sent from our factory this month. Barts and The London NHS Trust has received nearly 4,000 clinical waste bins for the new Royal London Hospital which will open next year.

This month saw the arrival of our long awaited golf day. For the first time ever Wybone organised and hosted the event at The Limes in Staincross. Customers from across the country came along to take part and the overall champion of the day was Mark Broadhead, general manager at The Mall in Barnsley. A great time was had by all.
Our design team have been hard at work altering an existing product so it fits the brief of a new client – York St John’s College. The Torpedo Triple has been re-designed and will now collect two waste streams in a 70/30 split. The largest part of the unit is for mixed recycling and the smaller section for other waste. It’s hoped this will encourage more students to recycle and send less to landfill.
We’ve also been extremely busy planning for the Recycling and Waste Management exhibition in Birmingham which takes place in September. It’s a fantastic opportunity for existing and potential customers to come along to our stand (2430) and see and touch our products but also talk to our sales reps about the huge range of options available on everything we do. Whether it be altering artwork, changing sizes or adding different apertures, we’re happy to work with our designers to manufacturer exactly what you want and need. The exhibition at the NEC runs from Tuesday 13th to Thursday 15th September.
IPS Bournemouth is also just round the corner and we’ve designed a brand new product which will be on display for the first time at the exhibition. The medicine cabinet is a secure way to keep controlled drugs at doctor’s surgeries and hospitals. Come to our stand W83 from 19th – 21st September to see the prototype for yourself.

July saw the launch of Wybone's Wyatt bench and Barnsley Council are the first to have placed an order for this unique product which will be put in the town centre for shoppers and visitors to use. It's a mixture of wood and metal that's not only comfortable but stylish as well. This bench will be part of a new range of products including a litter bin, bollards, recycling bins and cycle racks. All will follow the same sleek, modern design which looks ideal in all urban spaces.
Here at Wybone HQ we're on the countdown to one of our biggest exhibitions of the year. RWM is held at the NEC in Birmingham in September and is a chance to see our wide range of litter and recycling bins. Look out for our invitation only viewing of a brand new, top secret product. Come and see us on stand number 2430 where you'll have the chance to win an iPod Touch.
We've also been preparing for our first ever Wybone golf day at The Limes in Staincross. Our customers from up and down the country are coming to Barnsley to take part and make history! We'll keep you posted on how the day goes and who the winners and losers are...

This month saw the launch of our latest product - .the Hybrid clinical waste sackholder .The design was agreed, it went into production at our Barnsley factory and out into the market place. Here at Wybone we’re very excited about it. It offers something unique to our customers because it’s made up of both metal and plastic and so has the benefit of both of these materials.
It seems you like it too because feedback so far has been very positive, One of the overriding reasons for this is because it compliments our existing clinical waste sackholder range which is already being used in wards and surgeries up and down the country.
The design monster never sleeps and is already working on the next big idea. Coming soon is our new Wyatt range, which will include a bench and litter bin unlike anything Wybone has done before. Watch this space.
23rd May 2011 May 2011
May has been yet another busy month for us here at Wybone. We’ve been to four exhibitions including Nuffield Health Annual Infection Prevention Conference, IPS Yorkshire Bugs n Roses, IPS Darling Bugs of May and APSE conference. Whilst at these events we’ve met hundreds of our existing and future customers and wowed them with our high quality products at competitive prices.
We’re really looking forward to AHCP conference and exhibition in June, as well as IPS Ambulance Forum. Both events are targeted towards our NHS customers and will be a great opportunity to see the latest products in our clinical waste sackholder range.
One of the other highlights was a factory visit by representatives from Middlesbrough and Sunderland Councils, who spent the day being shown the inner workings of our business and finding out trade secrets. The feedback we’ve had has been excellent. Kenneth Sherwood is waste policy and performance manager, he says: “Thank you for your kind invitation to us to look around and see behind the scenes at Wybone. We had a very informative and enjoyable visit, most worthwhile. Thanks to you, Richard, Paul and all the rest of the team for making us so welcome.”
If you’d like to come and look round please call 01226 744010 to arrange a tour.
14th Apr 2011 Publicity...
We’ve been getting some great coverage in the press recently with articles in trade magazines and local newspapers.
ADF Architects Datafile featured an article on a brand new product, which we designed for a school in Ireland. We created a bench for Mossley Primary so that the 30+ pupils would have somewhere to sit and play during their break-time.
Hospital Bulletin focused on a case study about our relationship with The Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust. When staff needed new bins for their two new hospitals, Wybone was the obvious choice.
We’ve also appeared in two local newspapers. The South Yorkshire Times ran a piece about our exciting new graduate training scheme and this week we’re expecting the Barnsley Chronicle to publish an article about how we’ve helped a primary school become greener.
Keep a look out for more to come….
14th Mar 2011 March 2011
Its all systems go here at Wybone as we prepare for exhibition season. Our first trip out is Recycling on the Go at the Holiday Inn, Camden Lock, London, closely follow by the North of England Showcase Hospitals at Old Trafford on March 29th.
Both events offer the opportunity to see very different aspects of our business, which are equally interesting and exciting. Steven Parker and Jeff James will be waiting to meet you at the Holiday Inn so they can demonstrate our Torpedo product line which is an attractive yet functional way to recycle in all kinds of environments including shopping centres, universities and airports.
Steven will also be going along to Old Trafford, but this time John Smith will be with him. Between them they’ll be showing our wide range of clinical waste bins and our new Polythene sack-holder which is fire retardant.
Our design team is also hard at work creating the very latest in cutting edge waste management solutions, as well as adding to our range of street furniture.
16th Jun 2010 Wybone exhibit at CIWM Futuresource!
This week we are at CIWM Futuresource, exhibiting a selection of litter bins and recycling bins from our extensive range and a few new products too. Our exciting stand is a haven of all things 'green' for our visitors to relax and enjoy some park life!
Our exhibition is well underway now, and its going great, have a look at the photos of our stand from when we all went down to set it up on Monday...
Our Stand has been designed to reflect us as a company, we wanted to show our green side!
We made the stand ourselves, mainly from materials we use everyday in our factory, we love recycling so it was a great way to use up some bits that would otherwise have been wasted.
Like our benches for example - we made them from metal left over from our punching process. The same is true of our giveaways - our bottle openers and business card holders have all been made by us, out of parts of metal that are too small to do anything else with - like the inside of an aperture! We don't like wasting things!
On our stand we are displaying some new products, like our new Transparent Box Cycle Recycling Bins. We have developed these for Edinburgh University, they wanted something different to products already out there, and we gave it to them!
We are also running a competition on our stand to win an Apple iPod Touch, in association with Coca Cola and Recoup, to promote our new Torpedo Triple Recycling Bin. This bin has been specially developed for Manchester Airport, and we have just launched the new Transparent version!
Have you been to see our stand? Please get in touch and tell us what you think of it, we'd love to hear from you!
