Wybone Staff Raise Over £700 For Cancer Appeal

A fantastic amount!

Wybone’s  reveals the amount raised from Wybone’s ‘Wear It Pink Day’. Workers from the plant in Hoyland, Barnsley, raised £765 to help with the fight against cancer. The company have also donated specially adapted pink sackholders for Weston Park’s fundraising team.

Wybone, the litter bin and sackholder manufacturer based in Hoyland, Barnsley, are delighted to have raised over £700 for Weston Park Hospital’s Cancer Appeal. The firm, who manufacture and supply litter bins, grit bins cigarette end bins and hospital sackholders, raised the money with a series of events at its recent ‘Wear It Pink’ Day, where staff were encouraged to wear an item of pink. Other events on the day included Managing Director Richard Cooper donning the apron and cooking sausage sandwiches for the workforce, as well as a prize draw raffle. The company have also produced and donated a number of ‘pink’ sackholders for Weston Park’s fundraising team.

Weston Park Fundraiser Leanne Nicholson commented: “We would like to thank Wybone for raising such a tremendous amount of money for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Appeal. Donations such as this make a real contribution to our work supporting research, improving treatments and caring for people with cancer.”

Wybone Marketing Officer Jonathan Wilkinson commented “The work that Weston Park Hospital Cancer Appeal do is amazing, and Wybone were delighted to assist in raising money for such a great cause. Many of our sales representatives often see at first hand the effects of cancer when visiting hospital wards with our range, so it is nice to help in some way with the fight against cancer.
